The device ensures a convenient and safe access in sport facilities, and industrial areas too. It is equipped with bi-directional control, signal lights, and automatic dropping arm. Turnstile

A turnstile, also called a baffle gate, is a form of gate which allows one person to pass at a time. It can also be made so as to enforce one-way traffic of people, and in addition, it can restrict passage only to people who insert a coin, a ticket, a pass, or similar. Thus a turnstile can be used in the case of paid access (sometimes called a faregate when used for this purpose), for example public transport as a ticket barrier or a pay toilet, or to restrict access to authorized people, for example in the lobby of an office building.

Turnstiles are used at a wide variety of settings, including stadiums, amusement parks, museums, mass transit stations, office lobbies, retail sites, cafeterias, temporary exhibits, ski resorts, casinos and souvenir stands.

From a business/revenue standpoint, turnstiles give an accurate, verifiable count of attendance. From a security standpoint, they lead patrons to enter single-file, so security personnel have a clear view of each patron. Appearance and body finishes

  • Standard: powder coated silver case, powder coated black central part

  • Custom: Case and / or central part can be powder coated in custom colour (based on RAL codes)

Operation modes

When triggered, the arm can be turned in 120 degrees, allowing a single person to pass. The system is equipped with a counter-rotation feature to prevent fraud. Different operation modes can be set up for each passing direction:

  • Controlled passage

  • Blocked

  • Free passage

Control

The turnstile is controlled by a microprocessor-based unit.

Basic functions:

  • Input for opening / closing per direction

  • One protected input for dropping the arm

  • One output signal to indicate the state of the turnstile

  • Outputs to control the signal lights

  • Output to indicate the passage has been done

  • Output for sound signal

  • Adjustable expiration time, after which the turnstile becomes locked again

Mechanism

  • Heavy-duty mechanism to handle excessive usage
  • The electromagnetic mechanism prevents the passage of multiple persons at a time.
  • Centre-positioning mechanism which ensures that the turnstile returns to its original position after a full turn.
  • The hydraulic force-regulator ensures the movement of the turnstile is smooth and dynamically decelerated.
  • Counter-rotation of the turnstile is mechanically blocked.

  • Casing: 2 mm thick silver or custom painted steel, or stainless steel (AISI 304).

  • Central part: 2 mm thick black or custom painted steel, or stainless steel (AISI 304).

  • Rotor: Polished stainless steel or silver painted steel.
